JVS provides vital services that help improve the employability, increase the self-sufficiency, and enhance the quality-of-life of thousands of individuals and families throughout Northeastern New Jersey.
Yesterday, 6 graduates of JVS’s Adult Basic Education program who recently passed their High School Equivalency Exams were celebrated at a ceremony in East Orange. Each graduate successfully passed their exams and may now embark on new education and employment opportunities.
Andre, a graduate, remarked, “After seeing my daughter graduate last year and all the hard work that went into that, I had to show her I could do it too.”

Over the last few weeks, we are happy to have held three graduations for three cohorts in our certified training programs: Home Health Aide, Pharmacy Technician, and ESL Pharmacy Technician. Each program, ranging from 5 to 12 weeks of classroom instruction, prepares students to pass certification exams and begin healthcare careers.
Monefia, a Certified Home Health Aide graduate, remarked, “As an immigrant, a mother, and a woman, I am grateful to JVS for the opportunity provided to me and the others to follow our passion and receive qualification as certified home health aides. The experience is one we will treasure for the rest of our lives.”
